The first night in Real de Catorce was spent on the outskirts of town near an old church. We were bombarded by Mexican teenagers trying to sell us a ride to the "ghost city" by horseback and hinting at the availability of peyote if we would take their offer. The night was interrupted numerous times by barking dogs and pickup trucks driving nearby.
